Overview

Krfiyàkov Gíhm was founded durring the early 15th century in summer of the year 1440, by Zlkêthënm. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Krfiyàkov Gíhm was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Krfiyàkov Gíhm is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Krfiyàkov Gíhm is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive packed earth streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city rests behind a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, and battlments. Krfiyàkov Gíhm's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. The unusual yet seemingly effective fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Right off the bat Krfiyàkov Gíhm hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this city has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things.

Points of Interest

Krfiyàkov Gíhm was unknowingly built atop something unstable, and now that substrate is crumbling. It may be swampy ground or a decaying coastline, or it could be an ancient buried city that’s now giving way. In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

The roads leading into Krfiyàkov Gíhm possess a great number of switchbacks. While designed for defense, they mostly wind up pissing everyone trying to take goods to town right the hell off.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Krfiyàkov Gíhm was attacked by a renegade group of the army. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Krfiyàkov Gíhm lost 135 people, 359 livestock, and 54 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 109, when members of Krfiyàkov Gíhm's militia enacted an operation to assassinate an enemy's family member. The operation was complicated by an outbreak of plague which struck the ranks, killing many and laying low many more. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in victory for Krfiyàkov Gíhm's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Krfiyàkov Gíhm's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
